MBTI Team Building
The MBTI is well known for its ability to provide an easy to grasp, non-judgmental understanding of differences in personality that enables:
- Improvements in individual and team performance
- A reduction in workplace conflict
- An atmosphere of understanding and clear communication
- Increased self-awareness in leadership and career coaching
The MBTI demonstrates some of the highest levels of consistency and reliability of any personality assessment product available. The MBTI is the most widely used personality assessment in the world, each year over 2 million assessments are administrated to individuals, often in the context of team building in organisations.
The MBTI assessment offers the following:
You can choose between the paper-based assessment or taking the survey online prior to the event and receiving a Report on the day.
- Identifies an individual’s preference for Extraversion (E), or Introversion (I), Sensing (S), or Intuition (N), Thinking (T), or Feeling (F), and Judging (J), or Perceiving (P) – indicated by a four-letter type ‘code’.
- Summarises underlying patterns common to most people of a particular type (of which there are 16 possible combinations).
- Offers dozens of supporting materials to help with a variety of applications, from team building, to managing people in change, to conflict management, leadership development, or career planning and decision making.
The MBTI is the most established team building personality profile instrument used in organisations.
It is well known to offer the following benefits to teams:
- Reducing unproductive work by improving communication
- Identifying individual and team areas of strength and weakness

- Splitting into groups, by preference, to explore the preferences ‘in action’ via experiential exercises (the bulk of the time is spent in this activity

The full day workshop includes:

- Exploring the different preferences through a series of experiential group activities
- Constructing a ‘Living Type Table’ for the team in the afternoon and exploring the team’s strengths and weaknesses
- Reaching agreement on how the team will handle conflict better going forward as a result of the new understanding of personality
Each participant receives a booklet providing two full pages of information about each of the 16 personality types under the topics of:
- The eight preferences
- The eight function-attitudes
- Type development
- Stress and the inferior function
